Safe Stop Card is a single slim card that lives in your glove box or center console, alongside your registration and proof of insurance. It holds those documents together in one predictable place, and it displays short traffic, stop safety and rights reminders created with attorney and retired police officer input. When an officer asks for your documents, the card comes out with them.
The card carries traffic-stop safety and rights reminders created with attorney and retired police officer input, written to be read quickly and understood under pressure, short lines, plain words, nothing to decipher at the roadside. We do not publish the full printed wording online.
You are already reaching there. Your registration and proof of insurance live in the glove box or the console, and an officer is going to ask for them. The card does not add a movement, it comes out with the documents you were already retrieving. What it changes is that the reach is short and certain instead of a search through a compartment. And the card is written to be read before you ever need it, not for the first time at the roadside.
The card is 3.5 by 8.5 inches and about 1/16 inch thick, in matte white polypropylene with black printing. It is sized to sit alongside a vehicle registration, and it is built for the temperature swings a parked car goes through.
In the glove box, the center console, or a door pocket, together with your registration and insurance, so that everything an officer may ask for is in one place. Do not attach it to the sun visor, the windshield, the dashboard, or any airbag cover, and never position it where it covers a warning label or safety marking in your vehicle. Federal airbag warnings are printed on the sun visor for a reason, and nothing should obscure them.
The safety and rights wording printed on the card was written with input from a licensed attorney and a retired police officer, for clarity, accuracy, and calm communication. It does not mean the card is legal advice, and it does not mean that anyone becomes your lawyer.
No. Everything printed on the card and published on this website is general educational information. It is not advice about your situation, and no attorney-client relationship is created by buying or using this product.
No, and we will not claim otherwise. No product, card, or printed statement can control how a traffic stop turns out. What it can do is keep your documents in one predictable place so that you are not searching for them.
No. Safe Stop Card is never positioned as anti-police or as a tool for confrontation. Our message is preparedness, respect, and keeping everyone safer, the driver and the officer both. Always follow the lawful instructions of law-enforcement officers. Safe Stop Card is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any law-enforcement agency.
The product works anywhere, it is a document holder. Laws, procedures, and law-enforcement practices differ from state to state and change over time, so the information printed on the card is general and educational. You are responsible for knowing the law where you are.
New drivers, and the parents buying for them. Older drivers who would rather not fumble. Daily commuters. Anyone who has ever had to hunt through a glove compartment with headlights behind them.
